The image processing in this case is based on mostly two parts: first, finding the licence plate that makes up only 0.5% to 0.6% of the picture size, and then extracting the smaller typesets, all the while taking into consideration the wide differences between the various settings in which the pictures were taken (contrast, angle of the vehicle and so on).
